This pandemic gives us a lot of time to do things we're not able to do during pre-pandemic days. And considering being at home a blessing in disguise, I'm happy get a chance to get back to my first love, which is apparently reading. I was literally jumping to joy when I received a new book that I can read while still under the Work From Home setup. And since most of you know how I really love reading and working on write ups afterwards, let me share with you this book I was referring to, which is too obvious on the title of this blog.
Though travels are restricted at the moment for certain places, exploring the world did not slip out of my mind. And since I was able to find a perfect book for people who may have traveled already, travelling now, or thinking of traveling very soon, I would like you to know more about this awesome book!
I was able to finish The Overseas Fabulous Pinay: A Modern Filipina’s Guide on How to Thrive Abroad written by Donna Avellana Künzler, and to tell you honestly, this book has been nothing but absolutely amazing!

I am an avid fan of the color PINK and seeing how pinkish this book is, made me more and more excited to explore it! (Sorry, too girly here! :))
This award-winning book is basically a comprehensive guide for the modern and professional Filipina determined to succeed abroad. And I, too, dreamt of living abroad and that's why I find this book totally helpful. From the things you need to prepare, places you need to look for, people you need to know, up to the personal development you'll need to establish before, during, and after moving abroad, this book got it all, and is definitely a must have!
Unlike other guide books, what I really like about this one is that there is a humorous approach all throughout the book. It is just like the author is talking to you directly, and since Donna Avellana Künzler, the brilliant author and a native of Cavite, is a Filipina, you will be seeing known Filipino words, making it so personalized and understandable.
Furthermore, I also liked how it's purely detailed. Unlike other guide books, on this on one, you will be seeing organized and bulleted items per chapter that has spiced up every page, not to mention the amusing side notes the author included.
And the most interesting about this book is that aside from the author's goal to help professional Filipinas moving abroad, this is also a book for a cause. “I want to use my author platform to support my advocacies on education, women empowerment, and the promotion of Philippine indigenous products which support local communities and the well-being of Filipinos overseas," Avellana Künzler stated. Having said that, she made sure that parts of the proceeds will be contributed to the Assumption Mission Schools. Isn't this awesome? Imagine, upon buying this book, aside from merely helping yourself to be prepared for your overseas escapade, you are also helping other people.
